A Heritage & a Testimony!
- Mike Fritscher, pastor
1. Heritage!
Psalms 16:5 The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. 6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.
Letter from Fannie to Amy Stroud her Mother - October 7, 1948
"Johnnie Bea and I went to Sunday School this morning. We were the only ones there, but we sang two songs, read the lesson, fixed out the record and put it on the record board. We put in Ermanell and Orvell's $15.00 and Johnnie Bea put in a quarter. The record read – 2 present, $15.25 offering. Oh well, that will be better than nothing at all up there next Sunday."

Letter from Amy Stroud to Her sister November 18, 19 51
"We are about the same at Cottonwood . Guess it will never be anything but a spark, never to become a bright shining light for God, tho I have wished it could be for the last 30 years. Grandpa always had a longing that it might be. Papa did, and I have hoped along with them that it might someday be great. Grandpa silently sleeps there close by. Grandma, Mama, John, Ozella Morris and so many more that have had a part in keeping it sleep there also. I feel sometimes when I grow so very discouraged that they are calling me, telling me to never let go. But I pray that God's will may be done, whatever that may be. I wonder what it would be like to go to another church, but I know I'll never feel at home like I have ever felt at dear old Cottonwood . It would be like giving a loved one up in death and trying to find another that could take their place. It just couldn't be."

2. Testimony! Psalm 78:1-11
Psalms 78:5 For He established a testimony in Jacob And appointed a law in Israel, Which He commanded our fathers That they should teach them to their children, 6 That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, That they may arise and tell them to their children,
3. Lordship!
Psalms 127 :1 Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
