God is at Work! Pt 2

God Is At Work! The Power of the Gospel! Ephesians 1:1-11

John 5:17 But He answered them, "My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working."

Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

1. The Gospel's Message!

1 Corinthians 15:1-11

• Christ Died For Our sins!
• Christ Was Buried!
• He Was Raised on the Third Day!
• He Appears to You!

1) To Take Away Sin!

1 John 3:5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

2) To Destroy the Works of the Devil!

1 John 3:8 The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

3) To Save You According to His mercy!

Titus 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared , 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

4) To Obtain Eternal Redemption For You!

Hebrews 9:11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; 12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

1 Corinthians 15:11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed!

The Gospel!

• Colossians 1:6 calls the Grace of God in Truth!

• Colossians 1:27 Calls It Christ in You the Hope of Glory!

• 2 Corinthians 4:4 Calls It the Glory of Christ, who is the Image of God!

• 2 Corinthians 4:5 Says “We Preach Christ Jesus as Lord!”

• 1 Corinthians 1:18 Calls it “The Word of the Cross!”

2. The Power and Effect of the Gospel!

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

Notice what He says to the Ephesian Church:

Ephesians 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation — having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, NASU

3. You Move From Far Off to Very Near! 11-13
4. You Move From Enmity to Peace!14-15

God's Investment, God's Expectation! Isaiah 5:1-6

1. Choosing Life and Prosperity! Deuteronomy 30:15-20
2. Choosing to To Serve God!

Joshua 24:15 If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

3. Choosing the Faithful Way!

Psalms 119:30 I have chosen the faithful way; I have placed Your ordinances before me.

4. Choosing the Good Part!

Luke 10:42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."
