The Power of the Gospel! Isaiah 61:1-7

•  We are not of this world!

John 15:19 "If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you. NASU

John 17:16 "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

•  Jesus Overcomes the World!

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation , but take courage; I have overcome the world ."

•  The World Is Passing Away!

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. 17 The world is passing away , and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

What is this Gospel? What is this Good news? 

• The Gospel Is the Life of Jesus! It's all Jesus Christ!  

Mark 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. 

• The Gospel Is the Message of Christ!  

Mark 1:14 Now after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee , preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." 16 As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee , He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men." 

• The Good News Is the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Remember what Paul said to the Romans: 

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

1.The Gospel – From Brokenheartedness to Being Bound Up and Healed! 

•  A Heart that Does Not Work According to the Heart and Ways of God!

•  A Heart that Has been hurt, grieved or saddened! 

Genesis 41:50-52 - The Heart of Joseph Was Broken and Healed! 

2.The Gospel – From Captivity to Freedom! 

3.The Gospel – From Blindness to Sight! 

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes , that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law. 

4.The Gospel – From Oppression to Freedom!  

Mark 5:1-20 – The Demoniac of the Tombs! 

I want to go back to the Isaiah 61:1 

•  The Spirit of the Lord is upon You! He Has Anointed You! 

1 John 2:20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. NASU 

1 John 2:27 As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 

•  He Has Sent You!

John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, " Peace be with you;as the Father has sent Me, I also send you." 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
