What Do You Believe About God?
Scott Hooper

Trust His Name

Proverbs 23:7

For as [a man] thinks within himself, so he is.

Matthew 12:33-35

"A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. 34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.

Rom 2:5-8

5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation.

You will live your life by what you believe about God.

What I believe completely sets the course of my life.

We let our difficulties and circumstances define what we believe about God instead of letting God define how victoriously we get through them

Why God does not fix everything that you think is wrong for several reasons.

1. Really difficult situations are more likely to take you toward God
2. I personally may not like the situation, but that doesn't mean it's wrong
3. Holiness is eternal, happiness is temporary. God would rather you be holy than happy

Ex 5:22-6:9

How did God reveal Himself to Moses and the Israelites?

1. ‘El Adonay- my Lord
2. ‘El Yehovah- Jehovah the self-existent God
3. ‘El Shadda- God Almighty
4. Elohim- the God if all Gods
5. Jehovah/ Elohim

The name represented the authority and character of someone.
