Simeon's Vision Fulfilled!

Habakkuk 2:1-3  

Habakkuk 2:3 "For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.

Luke 2:21 -35- God's Promise to Simeon Fulfilled

1. The Character of Those Who See, Believe and Expect! (25) 

Luke 2:25 And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

• His Name! – To Hear, Listen, Obey and Publish!

• His Character! Righteous, Devout, Waiter!

2. The Object of What You See, Believe and Expect! (26-32) 

The Consolation of Israel ! 

Luke 2:26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. NASU

Luke 2:28 then he took Him into his arms, and blessed God, and said, 29 "Now Lord, You are releasing Your bond-servant to depart in peace, According to Your word; 30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation, 31 Which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, 32 A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES, And the glory of Your people Israel."

Jesus!

• God's Salvation For All Peoples!
• The Light for the Gentiles
• The Glory for Israel !

Salvation, Light and Glory!

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall crush him on the head."

The Consolation of Salvation! Isaiah 9:1-11

The Consolation of Glory! Isaiah 40:1-8

The Consolation For All Peoples!

Isaiah 49:6 He says, "It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel ; I will also make You a light of the nations So that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth."

Luke 2:33 And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him. 34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary His mother, "Behold, this Child is appointed for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and for a sign to be opposed — 35 and a sword will pierce even your own soul — to the end that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."
